A New Vision for 2008

God wants to give Christians a new vision for getting involved in the political process. Click here to read Stephen Strang's column from the January 2008 issue of Charisma magazine.

Be sure to watch this blog for more information about the meetings we'll hold in various parts of the country. These will be by invitation only, but we are looking for those who should be invited, so click here to let us know of your interest. The meetings will begin in February, and each will include 50 to 200 people. We are particularly interested in having pastors and other ministry leaders attend.

As a spirit filled believer in this great country of America. I believe that we not only need to pray and fast more, concerning these upcoming elections, but as christians and citizens we need to be more involved in the electoral process as well.
I personally believe that Mike Huckabee is the best candidate who can lead this country ethically, morally and spiritually, than any other candidate out there at this time. He is not perfect, but God never asked us to be that. It will be praying and involved people that will bring this nation under God once again.

I have a strong sense that Stephen is not responding out of a personal frustration to what he sees, but instead is being directed by the Spirit. When we look over our shoulders at what we have tried, and see that it didn't work like we had hoped, its time to look at it again. So, here we are, looking at it again. It is my conviction that the answer here does not lie in getting a bunch of people together to develop another great strategy. Instead, it is time to get people together that will do everything possible, in order to contend for Gods strategy.

This group may come up with a strategy that is out of the box, for developing Gods leaders in the realm of the government. Whether or not an out of the box strategy is developed, there is one thing that I do know for sure. In order for any strategy to work, it must entail letting God out of His box. It will call our brothers and sisters who step into government leadership to depend not only on Godly principles, but also on Gods ability to do what seems impossible.

I have to believe that He is already giving individuals across America, a piece for this great puzzle. When the pieces all come into place, His strategy will come to life. Everything that He breaths on, lives!

I applaud Mr. Strang's effort to organize the Christian vote to further God's agenda in our nation. The Christian way of life has been under attack in America for years and this election year is pivotal in the preservation of the freedom to preach Biblical truths. The voice of Godly morality in our nation is being censured at every turn and if we do not band together to put Godly people in positions of authority now that voice may be silenced in our lifetime.

Let all Christians across America unify in prayer and in our votes to regain the groung that has been lost in Jesus Name.

The truth is that Mike Huckabee was propelled politically into office in Arkansas by Christians when political insiders gave him no chance, much the same model as he tried to follow nationally. Unfortunately for our state and nation, but even more for Mike, once he took office here he turned his back on most of those people and embraced traditional corporate and secular power brokers (and donors). The irony is that Mr Strang appeeals to the example of Mike's integrity. But, those of us who we so happy to see God raise up a believer to the Governorship were mightily disappointed - and in many cases were personally treated by the unbelievers in state government in much more "Christian" ways than we were by Mike.

I am also a spirit-filled pastor. I have just one comment and one compound question: When did God become a Republican and then reveal Himself only to the leaders of the GOP; (please cite chapter and verse, biblical and or any other holy scriptural source) and when did He decide that any one who is not, is not also worthy of His Love?
Maybe we would all draw closer to Him and our brothers and sisters by not only reading John 3:16, but John 3:17 as well.
